Squished or get squashed: what it means
It means you either squish your friend or get squashed by them: in the Hop Hop Hop trend both happen. The person at the camera squishes the far one with a flat palm, then they swap. The squish is forced perspective: a hand close to the lens looks as big as a person far away.

Where the caption comes from
@nirami1's hallway take of October 24, 2026 was captioned "squished or get squashed". It passed 1.4 million views and the phrase stuck to the trend.
How the squish works
The camera stands still. One person stands right at the lens, the other several metres away. From the camera, a hand held up close looks as big as the whole far person, so a flat palm held level "sits" on their head. As the far person crouches in time with the palm going down, it looks like they're being pressed into the floor.
The hard part is the line-up: the palm has to stay right above the head as seen from the lens. To film it yourself, see how to film it; to make it from photos, the generator already has it set up.
